<p>In a double-screen format for a paper making or cardboard making machine, a suspension derived from the moving sheet is fed between a lower screen (9) and an upper screen (10). Devices act on the screens against an opposing counter surface (1) in order to express the liquid contained in the suspension. The necessary pressure can be applied by means of a system (2) of pressure chambers (a, b, c, d) which open against the counter surface (1) and can be subjected to the action of a pressurized fluid, or by elastic elements on which layers of fluid can be formed. In one embodiment, a band (8) which rotates with the screens (9, 10) is arranged along the openings of the chambers (a, b, c, d) and is impermeable or permeable to the fluid acting in the latter.</p> |
