The invention relates to a micro puncturing probe heated by light for the continuous quantitative measurement of tissue perfusion according to the thermodilution principle, which essentially comprises a thin-film thermocouple applied by vapour deposition to the tip of an optical waveguide. The light entering the optical waveguide heats the thermocouple. The thermocouple measures the dissipation of heat caused by conduction and convection. This micro puncturing probe achieves a spatial resolution of less than 100 mu m sphere radius, a temporal resolution of about 1 s and a sensitivity of the flow rate of up to 1 mm/s.
