A process for producing macromonomers with at least two hydroxyl groups at one end is characterized in that (1) a polyester, polyether, polyurethane, polycarbamide or polyamide prepolymer with an average molecular weight of 300 to 3,000, preferably 500 to 2,000, and containing on average a final hydroxyl or amino group and at least one carboxyl group per molecule, is converted with a diisocyanate to an intermediate product containing on average a final isocyanate group and at least one carboxyl group per molecule, and in that (2) this intermediate product is then converted with a compound having a molecular weight of 90 to 800, preferably 120 to 300, and containing in addition to a group which reacts with isocyanate groups at least two hydroxyl groups, into a macromonomer having on average at least one carboxyl group per molecule and at one end at least two hydroxyl groups.
|
