The invention proposes a sliding element (20) in a form of a flat roof window which can be displaced parallel to the pitch of the roof and, running in the longitudinal direction of roof rafters (30), is fastened directly or indirectly on said rafters. In this arrangement, the sliding element (20) is received by a frame (50) which, for its part, is arranged such that it can be displaced, via sliding elements, in a U-shaped guide (40). For reasons of sealing, the axis (18) of the frame runs in an off-centre manner with respect to the axis (74) of the guide. <IMAGE>
