In order to increase the flexibility of use and optionally also enable the cooking areas to be used in relatively rough terrain, in the case of a field kitchen having a plurality of cooking areas which are arranged on a chassis and are connected to a smoke vent likewise arranged on the chassis, it is proposed that each cooking area is formed by an independent cooking module, that a plurality of places for cooking modules are provided on the chassis, at which places guides for positioning and holding members for detachably fixing the cooking modules are situated, and that a releasable connection is established between a smoke-collecting housing, connected to the smoke vent, and the smoke outlet of each of the cooking modules arranged on the chassis.
