An installation for working arable land has an elongated carrier (5) on which is mounted a longitudinally mobile implement-carrying carriage (6). The carrier (5) which is rotatably rigidly mounted on a central pile (1) and the carriage (6) is connected to a cable (4) which guides it or an implement (11) attached to it along a spiral path around the central pile (4) as the carrier (5) rotates. The cable (4) extends inward from the carriage (6) along the carrier (5) to the central pile (1), where it is attached to a rotatably rigidly mounted take-up spool (18). Guiding can also be effected by an endless chain coupled to the carriage (6) which travels around a chain wheel rotatably rigidly mounted on the central pile (1). |
