The invention relates to a device 1 suited to raising or lowering an article, comprising a stand 2, a surface 3' supporting or bearing the article and belonging to a load carrier 3, a drive member 10 intended to interact with the load carrier 3 such that the latter can be raised or lowered by means of opposite wheels 5,6 or rollers along a stand section 4 belonging to the stand, and in which a member 8" which assumes the weight of the article and of the load carrier is arranged to interact with the load carrier 3 at a distance from the said stand section 4, further to which this weight-assuming member 8" is constituted by a flexible member, such as a chain, running from the load carrier 3 upwards and over two breaker wheels 14,13 attached to the upper part of the stand or stand section. The weight-assuming member 8" is arranged to interact with the load carrier 3 at such a distance below the load-assuming surface 3' that the latter can be raised to a level adjacent to or can be situated close to the top surface 4a of the stand or stand section. <IMAGE> |
