PRESSURE SENSITIVE CONVERTER

PURPOSE: To vary the contact resistance in response to pressure fluctuations by forming a resistor between members of at least one pair of conductors of a pressure-sensitive semiconductor layer in which first and third conductors and second and fourth conductors are respectively paired. CONSTITUTION: A conductor section 13 composed of first and second contact conductors 14 and 15 spatially separated from each other is arranged on one surface of a substrate member 12. In addition, insulating spacers 18 are fitted to the member 12 around the conductor section 13 and a cover 19 is put on the spacers 18 so as to form a space 24 between the conductor section 13 and the cover 19. That is, the cover 19 is stuck or mechanically fixed to the tops of the spacers 18 so that a pressure-sensitive resistance layer 22 can always be separated spatially (namely, the switch is normally-open) from the conductor section 13. Therefore, the resistance value of a contact resistor can be changed in response to pressure fluctuation.
