A solenoid valve has a cup-shaped magnet housing and a valve element which is clamped to this housing. The magnetic return path of the cup-shaped magnet housing is formed by the ferromagnetic valve element. Clamping is performed by a clamping nut which is screwed on to a threaded portion of the pressure tube that passes through the base of the magnet housing.
