An attachable scattering device for a lorry for distributing scattering materials (gritting materials) on traffic ways or squares is hydraulically driven by a vehicle running wheel. The pump, provided for generating the hydraulic drive power, is connected to a slip-on gear mechanism and pushed onto an extension of a vehicle axle. The separate running wheel known hitherto for scattering devices can thus be dispensed with. The result is a constructional simplification of the drive system.
