The invention relates to a proposal for separating off and drying pollutants from condensates and process waters of flue gas purification plants. In order to avoid the problematic introduction of these pollutant-containing liquids into the public sewage system, a process and an apparatus are specified here which provide an accelerated evaporation of these liquids in a collection tank, additional evaporation devices accelerating the permanent evaporation. The neutralisation products, sludge, soot and other solids remaining after the evaporation process can then be disposed of dry as a total solid composition. <IMAGE>
