<p>PURPOSE:To utilize converter slag as the modifier for blast-furnace cement by crushing converter slag, removing the iron component by magnetic separation, drying and recrushing the slag, and then mixing the slag in pulverized blast- furnace slag in a specified ratio. CONSTITUTION:Converter slag is crushed to <=5mm grain size, and treated by a magnetic separator to remove the granular iron component. The slag is dried to <=1% water content, and then pulverized by a ball mill, etc., to obtain about 3,000-5,000cm<2>/g specific surface. Meanwhile, molten slag from a blast furnace is water-granulated, dried to <=1% water content, and further pulverized to obtain 3,800-4,200cm<2>/g specific surface. The fine powder of blast-furnace slag is mixed with 10-30wt.% of the fine powder of converter slag. Blast-furnace slag cement wherein converter slag acts as the modifier for increasing initial strength is obtained.</p> |
