DETECTING METHOD FOR LIGHTNING STROKE POSITION ON TRANSMISSION STEEL TOWER

PURPOSE:To accurately specify a lightning stroke occurrence position by installing a current sensor such as a Rogowskii coil and a lightning stroke current recording device between the overhead earth wire arm and transmission line upper-phase arm of the transmission steel tower, and the transmission line lower-phase arm and the ground. CONSTITUTION:The transmission steel tower 10 where plural arms are fixed has the overhead earth wire 14 mounted at the top arm and transmission lines 18a-18c on lower arms. Then the current sensor 20 and the lightning stroke current recording device 22 which is connected thereto are installed at the peak part 10a between the overhead earth wire 14 and the transmission line 18a of the highest stage and the tower leg part 10b between the power transmission line 18c of the lowest stage and the ground. When a lightning strobe strikes on a transmission line, currents flowing through two current sensors 20 are different in direction and when the lightning stroke strikes the overhead earth wire, they flows in the same direction, so the lightning stroke occurrence position is detected from the current directions and occurrence time recorded on the recording device 20.
