PURPOSE:To obtain a thermosensitive recording material with high whiteness and high speed recording suitableness by adding a specific compound to the thermosensitive color developing layer of a thermosensitive recording body. CONSTITUTION:A thermosensitive recording material consists of a thermosensitive color developing layer using color reaction between colorless or pale basic leuco dye and coloring agent. The thermosensitive color developing layer contains at least one kind of phthalimido derivatives shown by a formula I. In the formula I, n is an integer of 2-6, m is an integer of 0-1, R is hydrogen atom. or an alkyl group with 1-4 carbon atoms., at least 2 of which may be substituted in a benzene ring, X is an oxygen, sulfur atom. or a carbonyl group. The phthalimide derivative shown by the formula (I) is mixed with a coating liquid when said liquid which forms a thermosensitive color developing layer is prepared. A least two kinds of phthalimide compound can be used for mixture. The mixing ratio of the basic dye with the coloring agent is normally 100pts.wt. per 100-700pts.wt. of the latter in said solution. The phthalimide derivative should be added with the coloring agent at a ratio of 10-1,000pts.wt. per 100pts.wt. of the coloring agent. |
