PURPOSE:To obtain a sheet on which sublimation transfer is to be conducted and which is easy to handle by laminating a dye acceptor layer on one side of a base material and a moistureproof resin layer on the other. CONSTITUTION:A sheet on which sublimation transfer is to be conducted has a dye acceptor layer laminated on one side of its base material and a moistureproof layer laminated on the other. Coated papers such as art paper, coated paper, a synthetic paper formed from polypropylene or the like and a plastic film formed from polyethylene terephthalate or the like may be used for the base material. A material having a water absorption of not more than 5% when measured in accordance with D 570 of ASTM (American Standard of Testing Material) may be selected for use for the moistureproof layer. Used for the dye acceptor layer is a resin capable of being heated by the heat applied from the thermal head to a temperature higher than the glass transition point in view of the acceptance of dye, and a saturated polyester resin of the like is particularly preferred. The base material is prevented from being in contact with moisture in air, thereby effectively preventing the reduction of dimensional stability and occurrence of warpage on the sheet on which sublimation transfer is to be conducted. |
