PURPOSE:To improve the copying speed of a copying machine with a continuous page copying function by making jam corrections in continuous page copying operation. CONSTITUTION:When the left and right pages or top and reverse of one document are copied continuously, abnormality is detected by a registration sensor 29a, a separation sensor 30a, a distance sensor 34a, an intermediate sensor 87a, a sorter sensor 85a, etc., in case of an interruption state such as jamming and door opening after a current side begins to be copied and before copying paper for a precedent copying surface is discharged from the machine. Consequently, a CPU enters an abnormal processing routine, an original counter, a return counter, etc., are corrected according to the mode of an automatic document feeding device 2 and the position of the copying paper at the time of the interruption, and a copy is taken again. Therefore, continuous copies are taken even if a jam in a last mode occurs after a next mode is entered, and the copying efficiency is improved. |
