NEW MATERIAL:A compound of formula I [n is the number of trans double bonds, 1 or 2; Y is formula II (X is H, halogen, methoxy), formula III where, n is 2, when Y is formula III]. EXAMPLE:N-[2-[3-(3,5-Dimethoxy-4-hydroxyphenyl)-2-propenoyl]aminoethyl -N'-p- chlorobenzhydrilpiperazine. USE:An antiallergic. It has action to inhibit 5-lipoxygenase and is used for allergic asthma or allergic rhinitis. PREPARATION:A carboxylic acid derivative of formula IV [(R)<m> is 3,4- methylenedioxy; 3,5-dimethoxy-4-hydroxy, etc.] or its reactive derivative of formula V is subjected to condensation reaction followed by deprotection to give the compound of formula I. |
