PURPOSE: A preventing circuit of brake down is provided to discharge a capacitor in a moment when a current introduced into a linear compressor becomes zero to prevent the brake down. CONSTITUTION: A method is performed by the steps of: detecting electric currents introduced into a linear compressor(100); judging if the detected currents are zero or if the currents are detected; discharging a capacitor(C) filled with voltage by communicating a TRIAC(Tr2) if the currents are not detected; and continuing to discharge the capacitor by isolating the TRIAC if the currents are detected. Therefore, the method prevents the brake down by discharging the capacitor in a moment when the currents introduced into the linear compressor become zero to protect the linear compressor from damage.
