PURPOSE:To obtain a deodorizing composition showing an excellent deodorizing property not only to a basic malodor but also to a mercaptan malodor, by containing a phosphorous compound or a hypophosphorous compound, a copper compound and, if necessary, a solvent. CONSTITUTION:A deodorizing composition contains a phosphorous or hypophosphorous compound (A), a copper compound and, if necessary, a solvent (C). As the phosphite compound to be used, phosphorous acid, phosphorous monoester, phosphorous diester and salts of these compounds are designated and, as the hypophosphorous compound, hypophosphorous acid, hypophosphorous monoester and salts of these compounds are designated. As the copper compound, either one of an inorg. acid salt, an org. acid salt, a complex and oxide may be used. As the solvent, either one of water and an org. solvent may be used and one dissolving or dispersing the component (A) and the component (B) may be used. The compounding ratio of the respective components can be appropriately selected corresponding to the demand and capacity of an object but the use amount of the component (B) is usually within a range of 0.001-200 pts.wt. per 100pts.wt. of the component (A). |
