PURPOSE:To obviate a process of making a coil of a superconducting material as a wire and to prevent the performance deterioration of the coil due to mois ture by shutting off air, by filling a ceramic superconducting material into the groove of a metal sintering mold board, and integrating the mold boards and the ceramic superconducting coils as one body. CONSTITUTION:A mold 1 is made of a metal such as copper, having a spiral coil groove 3 defined therein. The coil groove 3 is filled with an appropriately kneaded superconducting ceramic, which is sintered. For instance, yttrium oxide, barium carbonate and copper oxide are mixed at a ratio of 1:2:3 in this order, sintered for two hours in an electric furnace at 850 deg.C, cooled, and powdered. This powdered superconducting material is appropriately kneaded with water, filled in the coil groove 3 of the metal mold 1 made of copper or the like, dried, and again sintered for about one hour in the electric furnace at about 850 deg.C. A plurality of elements each consisting of the mold 1 and superconducting coil 2, are stacked with insulating materials 5 sandwiched between the coils, and the ends of the coils 2 are connected, thereby completing a set of coils. |
