A heat accumulator in the shape of a heat exchanger of the regenerative type comprising a plurality of aluminum plates (11) disposed closely spaced so as to form channels therebetween for the inlet air and exhaust air, respectivelly. The plates (11) are disposed in a good heat conducting contact with closed tube loops (12), containing a liquid heat absorbing medium. The closed tube loops (12) are formed by U-shaped loops, the straight shanks (12A, 12B) of which are passed through the plates (11) and the shank ends of which are interconnected in pairs. The tube loops (12) are expanded into contact with the walls of the holes in the plates. The heat absorbing liquid mixture consists of water and glycol, in the proportions 70 percent by volume of water and 30 percent by volume of glycol. |
