PURPOSE:To shorten a platen by driving a platen carrier by using a motor to drive a carrier of a printing part and thereby moving the carrier of the printing part and the platen carrier. CONSTITUTION:The shaft of a motor 7 which drives a carrier 8 of a printing part is allowed to protrude, and a belt pulley 6 which is fitted to a timing belt 5 for driving the carrier 8 of the printing part, and a belt pulley 1 of the same shape are mounted on the shaft. After this, a timing belt 2 for driving a platen carrier 9 is fitted to the belt pulley 1. Consequently, the platen carrier 9 is synchronized to the movement of the carrier 8 of the printing part to move horizontally. Thus the platen carrier 9 can be shortened. |
