The system includes an optical receiver (1) which has an axis orientated at an angle to the horizontal plane and maintained by an aim stabiliser (3). It focuses the rays onto an image detector (2) to produce a video signal corresponding to the focal plane image. A line scan image is formed (17) by selecting a same row line at each detected focal plane image. The processing (19, 25) of this line scan extracts its characteristic elements and compares them to a model reproducing the characteristics of the image in vertical sight to identify and locate the objective. The detected correspondences are compared with oblique and vertical models for final identification and positioning. |
