PURPOSE:To enlarge a critical current density and to improve characteristics with time of an oxide superconductor of perovskite type containing an Ln element, AE element and Cu, by suppressing content of U and Th to an extremely small amount. CONSTITUTION:An oxide superconductor having structure of perovskite type containing an Ln element (Ln is at least one of Y, La, Sc, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb and Lu), an AE element (at least one of Ba, Ca and Sr) and copper, wherein total content of Ln element and AE element is <=0.01ppm. An oxide superconductor having the atomic ratio of the Ln element, AE element and Cu substantially of 1:2:3 is preferable as the oxide superconductor. |
