PURPOSE:To make it possible to facilitate the removal of frost and blur sticking to a side mirror by jointing a surface-like heating element on the rear surface of a mirror in a side mirror assembly, and by enabling the heating element to be energized by a power from a battery in association with a manipulation of a switch in the passenger compartment. CONSTITUTION:In a side mirror assembly which is fixed to a fender of an automobile and in which a mirror 12 whose angle may be adjusted by remote control is disposed, a surface-like heating element 16 is jointed to the rear surface of the mirror 12. In this arrangement, the surface-like heating element 16 is coated on the rear surface thereof with a bonding agent 17 having a heat- resistance, through which it is jointed to the all over rear surface of the mirror 12. Electrodes provided on the surface heating element 16 are connected to a battery through a wiring cords 18, and are controlled for energization and deenergization by manipulating a switch (not shown) disposed in the passenger compartment. |
