PURPOSE:To obtain an anisotropic permanet magnet characterized by excellent characteristics and excellent performance stability, by laminating a specified first metal layer and a specified second metal layer, forming a laminated body, and heat-treating the laminated body. CONSTITUTION:A first metal layer 11 and a second metal layer 12 are laminated and a laminated body is formed. The metal layer 11 has a composition of RxT100-x-y-zByMz (where R is one or more kinds of rare earth elements including Y, T is Fe or Fe and Co, 5<=x<=9, 6<=y<=14, z<2, and M is at least one or more kinds of Ti, V, Cr, Zr, Nb and Mo). The metal layer 12 includes one or more kinds of elements or one or more kinds of the compounds or the alloys of these elements, which are selected among R, T, B and M (where R, T and M are the same as before). The laminated body is heat-treated. Thus, in the same composition, 5.5<=x<11.76, 2<=y<15 and z<=10 are specified. The ratio between residual magnetized Br in the oriented direction and residual magnetized Br' in the direction perpendicular to the oriented direction, i.e., Br/Br', is 1.1 or more. Such an anisotropic permanent magnet is obtained. |
