The short message dynamic routing system operates with a first message with a routing envelope having fields with the mobile transmitter number, the receive number of the first transmission centre the number of the mobile telephone destination together with a text message field. The dialing plan (PN) has the number of the centres of short transmission messages (SMSC) and possible interconnections as well as switching (MSC) and destination networks (M1a..M4a). Processing within the dialling plan separate from the destination defines the short message path routing.
