PURPOSE:To enable marking in a normal/handstand position and a normal/ reverse direction, by moving each marking nozzle relatively to an object to be marked so as to control the projecting timing of a paint from the marking nozzle. CONSTITUTION:A marking apparatus 10 is provided with a plurality of marking guns 30 at one side of a manifold 20 and marking nozzles 40 at the other side of the manifold 20 in a manner to correspond to the marking guns 30. A normal/ handstand position setting means 42 determines for every specified marking pattern whether each marking nozzle 40 is located at the normal position or at the handstand position with respect to the marking pattern given to an object to be marked, and a normal/reverse direction setting means 43 determines whether the marking nozzle 40 should be moved relatively to the marking pattern in the normal direction or in the reverse direction. From the results determined by the setting means 42 and 43, a controlling device 41 controls the projecting timing of a paint from the nozzle among the standard projecting timing, handstand projecting timing and reverse direction projecting timing stored for each marking pattern in a ROM 54. Thus, a desired marking pattern is formed. |
