PURPOSE:To remove the end part of the org. layer of an electrophotographic sensitive body having the org. layer on a conductive base while efficiently protecting the necessary part of the org. layer by removing the end part of the org. layer in the presence of a removing liquid while allowing gas to flow down along the surface of the photosensitive body at the time of removing the end part of the org. layer of the above-mentioned electrophotographic sensitive body. CONSTITUTION:A shielding material 6 and a guide 7 are installed in a removing liquid housing tank 5 and the cylindrical electrophotographic sensitive body 8 having the org. layer is gripped by a gripping device 9. The bottom end of the photosensitive body 8 is guided through the central hole of a blowing nozzle 10 by the guide 7 and is inserted into the central hole of the shielding material 6. This bottom end is introduced into the removing liquid housing tank 5. The removing liquid injected from removing liquid injection ports 17, 17', 18 and 18' removes the org. layer at the bottom end of the photosensitive body 8 but the splashing of the removing liquid is prevented from rising by the gaseous flow falling down from the shielding material 6 and the nozzle 10. The org. layer of the non-removing part is thus protected. |
