PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably produce a uniform nonwoven cloth having excellent physical properties over a long period by carding staple fibers having a sea-island cross- section structure, containing a polyethylene polymer as the sea component and splittable into ultrafine fibers, laminating the produced webs and needle- punching the laminate. SOLUTION: A nonwoven cloth is produced by carding staple fibers having 1 sea-island cross-section structure, containing a polyethylene polymer as the sea component and splittable into ultrafine fibers, laminating the produced webs and needle-punching the laminate. A silicone-based lubricant having a molecular weight of >=80,000 and a viscosity of >=60 poise at 25 deg.C is lied to the staple fiber in an amount of >=0.2 wt.%.
