PURPOSE:To decrease splashing of a toner when air leaks from a cleaning unit by providing an aperture to communicate the space of a member for forming a hermetic space and the outside to said member and mounting an air permeable filter which prohibits passage of the toner to this aperture. CONSTITUTION:A fur brush roller rotates in the direction of an arrow to come into contact with a projection 5a. As a result, the hermetic space is formed by a photosensitive drum 1, a cleaning blade 2, paper powder removing 'Mylar(R)' 4a, a holder 4c, a casing 5, an inlet sealing member 8 and sealing members before and after the cleaning blade. The aperture 4d is provided to a paper powder removing 'Mylar(R)' holder 4c and the filter 4b which allows passage of the air but prohibits the passage of the toner is mounted to close this aperture. The air in the hermetic space leaks to the outside of the hermetic space through the filter 4d after the toner is removed the the filter 4b as the air passes the filter. Since the pressure in the hermetic space is thereby decreased, the leakage of the air from between the sealing members, etc., and the consequent splashing of the toner in the machine are suppressed. |
