PURPOSE:To secure a cooling-water passage and shorten the total length of a cylinder body by installing a fittings mounting piece over the outer and the inner walls at the opened part of a water jacket, after the cylinder body is cast-prepared as an open deck type. CONSTITUTION:A cylinder liner 2 for forming a cylinder bore is press-fitted at the center part of a cylinder body 1, and a water jacket 3 is formed between the outer and the inner walls 10 and 11. In this case, a notched part 12 is formed at a part of the upper edge of the outer wall 10, and a piece 4 for fixing the engine fittings is inserted into said notched part 12, and the both sides of the outer and the inner walls 10 and 11 at the opened part of the water jacket 3 are connected. With such a constitution, the piece 4 is mounted after the cylinder body 1 is casted as an open-deck type, so the passage for the cooling water for the water jacket 3 can be secured, and the total length of the cylinder body 1 can be shortened. |
