PURPOSE:To prevent the front part of a vehicle from diving at braking with giving no influence to shock-absorbing function and consequently contrive to simplify the construction and to save the weight of the shock absorber by a method wherein a plunger is fitted in a casing fixed onto the outside of an outer tube and its inner oil pressure chamber is communicated with a braking oil pressure generating system. CONSTITUTION:When the braking is applied to a motor cycle, the front part of the vehicular body tends to dive due to inertia. At this time, the pressure oil generated in a master cylinder 13 is introduced through conduits 14, 14a and an oil passage 27 in the pressure chamber S so as to act on the upper end surface of the plunger 21 in order to push the plunger 21 downward. Due to this downward movement of the plunger 21, to which a front wheel shaft is supported, with respect to the outer tube 15, the diving-in of the front part of the vehicular body is effectively reduced or, in other words, the anti-diving function is brought into full play. Because said function is brought into full play without giving any change at all in the inner construction of a front fork 2, the shock-absorbing characteristic of the front fork 2 does not change even at the braking and accordingly no riding quality is impaired. |
