PURPOSE:To prevent the development of spalling of an air seal pipe caused by molten steel heat and clogging in the pipe caused by solidifying molten material by heating the air seal pipe for pouring the molten steel into a tundish from a ladle with a preheating device having the specific construction and fitting it to the ladle. CONSTITUTION:At the time of pouring the molten steel in the ladle into the tundish through the air seal pipe without contacting with the air, the air seal pipe 2 is inserted into the preheating device 26, which is divided into three parts 26a, 26b, 26c and opens/closes by operating an arms 29, 29 fitted at a cylinder 31 and tip part of a piston rod, and after closing three parts 26a, 26b, 26c, ignition is executed to the burner 24. After heating inside and outside of the air seal pipe carriage 21 is shifted to the position of the ladle and the three parts 26a-26c are opened and the air seal pipe 2 is taken out under high temp. condition and fitted between the ladle and the tundish. As the air seal pipe 2 is heated, it does not break by spalling caused by heat shock at the time of pouring the molten steel, or the clogging of the pipe 2 caused by cooling and solidifying the molten steel in the pipe 2 does not occur. |
