<p>The present invention relates to beta -lactam compound having the general formula (I): <CHEM> wherein R<1> is a protective group for hydroxy group, R<2>, R<3> and R<4> are selected from a lower alkyl group of C1 to C4, phenyl group and aralkyl group and a process for preparing thereof which comprises reacting enolsilylether having the general forumal (III) <CHEM> wherein R<1>, R<2>, R<3> and R<4> are as above, with chlorosulfonylisocyanate and then reducing the obtained product. beta -Lactam compound of the present invention is a useful intermediate for preparing carbapenam beta -lactam compound.</p> |
