The invention concerns polyurethane or modified polyurethane foams, in particular fire-resistant rigid foams, produced starting with polyol compositions containing an acetylene polyol, acting as reducer of viscosity of the other polyols used. The use of an acetylene polyol during production of foams enhances the efficiency of the swelling agent and the resulting foams exhibit improved fire resistance and dimensional stability.
