摘要 PURPOSE:To reduce the leak amount of ultraviolet rays from an outlet and an inlet opening parts, by arranging a high pressure mercury lamp used in subjecting the outer peripheral surface of a cylindrical object advancing to the longitudinal direction thereof to irradiation treatment so as to surround said cylindrical object in a circular arc form. CONSTITUTION:In an ultraviolet ray irradiation apparatus using a high pressure mercury lamp 6 subjecting the outer peripheral surface of a cylindrical object 8 to irradiation treatment while said object 8 is advanced to the longitudinal direction thereof, the high pressure mercury lamp 6 is arranged so as to surround the cylindrical object 8 in a circular arc form. That is, because the irradiating direction of the high pressure mercury lamp 8 is at right angles relative to the longitudinal direction of the cylindrical object 8, the leak amount of ultraviolet rays from an outlet and an inlet opening parts is small. As the result, it is eliminated that a coating liquid usually placed in the vicinity of the inlet opening part is increased in the viscosity thereof or cured.
