The invention relates to a device for making it possible to eliminate the reproduction of spots and/or dirt contained on the backing plate of photocopiers, and making it possible to incorporate the reproduction of colours, marks, signs, shades. It consists of a casing/lid 9 and 26 which is substituted for the original lid 13, into which are introduced either cassettes 10, cartridges 27 or a composition frame 11 or 28, constituting the new backing plate for the originals to be reproduced, whether they are opaque or transluscent. The device of this invention is intended particularly for the use of photocopiers, facsimiles and other machines used for the reproduction of documents. <IMAGE>
