摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To optimize power consumption by dividing in frequency a basic clock signal into plural types of division clock signals to supply them to a multiplexer, and selecting one of these clock signals based on the processing speed to supply it to a microprocessor. CONSTITUTION:A clock input device of a microprocessor 1 consists of a driver which divides a basic clock signal 12 of a clock oscillator 2 into plural types of division signals 14a-14c and a microprocessor 5. The microprocessor 5 receives the input of those signals 12 and 14a-14c and is controlled by a selection signal 15 that is produced in response to the load condition of the relevant process and the requested processing speed. Then one of those input signals 12 and 14a-14c is selected and sent to the microprocessor 1 as an internal clock signal 11. Thus the microprocessor 1 is actuated by the optimum signal 11.</p>
