PURPOSE:To perform bidirectional printing in a non-impact printing apparatus, by constituting recording paper and an ink film in a non-contact state and performing the movement control of a carriage in a desired direction by a moving mechanism. CONSTITUTION:The predetermined position of an ink film 102 is heated by a heat generator 302 to generate heat and the heat generating part 102a thereof moves with the feeding of the ink film 102 to perform relative movement with respect to carriages 201, 202. During this time, the heat generating part 102a is separated from the heat generator 302 and the ink thereof is melted. Next, the molten ink of the heat generating part 102a flies to the edge of A by the magnetic attraction force of a magnetic head 105 to be transferred to recording paper 112. Several millisecond is necessary before a heat generating pulse is sent to a thermal head 101 and the ink is melted to perform transfer and, therefore, when the thermal head 101 is arranged at the center of the gap 404 of the magnetic head 105, the ink flies at the optimum flight position and, therefore, flight quantity and reproducibility become excellent. |
