PURPOSE:To reduce processing load on a broad-band LAN terminal subscriber device by providing a variable timer for the timing of data packet transmission to a transmission line. CONSTITUTION:When an optional terminal equipment among terminal equipments 12a-12d sends one character, the CPU 21 of the terminal subscriber equipment 11 stores it in its backup area 23b. At this time, the variable timer is started according to a variable timer value stored in the variable timer value initial setting area 23 unless the area 23a is full. When this variable timer enters a time-out state, characters stored in the area 23b so far are sent in one data packet to a coaxial cable trunk line 15 through a high-frequency modem device 13. |
