PURPOSE:To grind a ferrule tip into a smooth spherical surface by installing a concave cylindrical grinding surface, relatively rotated and driven to the ferrule, possible to be rectilinearly reciprocated in the center axial direction of this cylindrical surface and to be rockably around this center axis. CONSTITUTION:A concave cylindrical grinding surface 37 is made up of sticking an abrasive sheet 36 to a concave cylindrical sheet stuck surface installed in a grinding surface plate 30a. This grinding surface plate 30a has a cylindrical receiving surface 32a concentric with the sheet stuck surface 31a, and the cylindrical receiving surface 32a is pressed and supported by rollers 20 pivotally attached to a slide block 15, being reciprocated parallel with the center shaft, in parallel with the driving direction, and it is engaged with a driving pin 9 to be reciprocated in direction to be crossed with the center shaft and thereby rocked and driven. With reciprocative axial drive of this grinding surface plate 30a and rocking movements in direction orthogonal with this surface plate, a tip of ferrule 40 pressed to the abrasive sheet 36 is smoothly ground into a spherical surface. |
