The invention relates to a roller for rapidly and accurately obtaining the values of resistors and capacitors. This ruler can easily be separated into two elements 23, 24, one for determining resistance, and one for determining capacitance. These two elements consist respectively of a main support 131, 132 respectively 5 and 6 having guides 101, 102 for the movement of the 5 and 6 small rulers which are graduated according to the international colour code of the "IEC". Two cursors 14 each fitted with a window are intended for aligning and for easier reading of the values, according to the colour code represented on the resistors and the capacitors.
