PURPOSE:To reduce the number of processing operations at a data reception side by storing plural data consisting of plural kinds of segment areas in a storage means, and transmitting only the segment area of desired data in the plural data selectively for a command decided in advance. CONSTITUTION:To a processing circuit 4, a read-only memory 5 to store a program to perform an accounting job and plural files 6a-6d are connected. For example, a department file is stored in the file 6a. And when, for example, the sale data of the day is transmitted to a host computer 1, the transmission command of the desired data is transmitted from the host computer 1, and an electronic cash register C selects the data from the file 6 according to the command, and transmits it to the host computer 1. Thus, it is possible to transmit only the segment area of the desired data selectively, and to prevent the segment area of undesired data from being transmitted. In such a way, a transmission time can be shortened, and transmission efficiency can be improved. |
