PURPOSE:To enhance sensitivity, to prevent deterioration of potential acceptance due to preexposure fatigue and deterioration of potential acceptance characteristics after repeated cycles of charging and exposure, and to restrain rise of residual potential by incorporating zirconium oxide in an undercoat layer. CONSTITUTION:The undercoat layer formed between a conductive substrate and a photosensitive layer comprises zirconium oxide as a main component and, preferably, a binder resin, and as said zirconium oxide, pure zirconium oxide, as well as stabilized oxide or partially stabilized zirconium oxide can be used alone or a combination of some of them, thus permitting sensitivity to be enhanced, deterioration of potential acceptance due to preexposure fatigue and deterioration of potential acceptance characteristics after repeated cycles of charging and exposure to be prevented, and rise of residual potential to be restrained. |
