Sliding bearings composed of plastic are known, having an outer part (10) that can be inserted into a bearing receptacle and an inner part (11) which is inserted into the outer part (10), has a bearing surface (14), can be pushed onto the shaft or rod to be supported and, between it and the outer part (10), forms lubricant-filled chambers (12) which are connected via passages (13) or the like to the bearing surface (14) of the inner part (11). In the known sliding bearings of this kind, the tolerance range between the recess forming the bearing surface (14) in the inner part and the shaft or rod to be supported therein is small. The new bearing is intended to allow reliable support and guidance despite this tolerance range being widened. For this purpose, at least three resilient arched projections (1, 2, 3 or 1', 2', 3', 4') projecting into the cavity (6) enclosed by the bearing surface (14) are moulded integrally on the inner part (11) at equal spacings. The sliding bearing is used for the rotatable or axially displaceable support of shafts or rods.
