The device is used for expressing liquid from moist bulk material, such as fruit must. The bulk material is received between horizontally arranged endless belts 7, 7'. The belts 7, 7' are composed of plates 10 which are articulatedly connected to one another, are permeable to juice, are supported on mutually opposing sides by guide rollers 15 and form a pressing chamber 18 which tapers in a wedge shaped manner. The plates 10 of the lower plate belt 7 are provided with laterally upright strips 25 which are permeable to liquid, the upper plate belt 7' being arranged between these strips 25 inside the pressing chamber 18. The spindles 14 of the rollers 15 are connected at their upper and lower end by means of a link chain 17 and are guided via drive and deflection rollers 8, 9. The guide rollers 15 are supported in the region of the pressing chamber 18 by means of pressure holding-up devices 2, which are lined by deformable roller gear parts 6. <IMAGE>
