PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use a photoreceptor over a long term even in an electrifying system where voltage obtained by superimposing AC voltage on DC voltage realizing uniform electrification is applied. SOLUTION: This image forming device is provided with an electrifying device 2 giving electrification charge to a photoreceptor belt 1 by discharge by applying the voltage obtained by superimoposing the AC voltage of the DC voltage to an electrifying roller 15, and an insulating substance coating mechanism 9. By making the edge of a rotating brush 12 slides in contact with a solid wax state insulating substance 11 so as to scrape the substance 11 in powder state by the edge of the brush 12 and applying it to the surface of the belt 1, a photoreceptor protection layer by the substance 11 is formed on the surface of the belt 1 before an electrifying stage by the device 2. Thus, it is the photoreceptor protection layer toner additive easily adheres by the application of the AC voltage. Therefore, the characteristic change of the belt 1 is prevented. |
