An installation unit for a vehicle roof having a prefabricated roof lining (12), a reinforcing profile frame (10) serving for reinforcement of the prefabricated lining and having auxiliary components, such as handles (36), sun visors (18), lights (31) and the like. The prefabricated lining is in the form of a one-piece component not resistant to bending. The reinforcing profile frame connected to the prefabricated lining has fastening points (22, 35, 40) which with the auxiliary components and by way of which the auxiliary components are located and secured at least temporarily relative to the prefabricated roof lining. The use of the reinforcing profile frame to support the lining permits the use of relatively inexpensive material for the lining such as flexible plastics or textile sheet. Fitting of the auxiliary components temporarily to the reinforcing profile frame permits pretesting of the installation unit prior to fitting in the vehicle. <IMAGE> |
