The homogeneous field magnet contains a yoke which carries the magnetic flux and has two opposite pole shoes between which a highly homogeneous magnetic field is formed. The pole shoes are provided with pole plates which are profiled on their mutually facing sides and can be adjusted by means of mechanical adjusting devices for field correction. This field correction is intended to be capable of being carried out in a relatively simple manner. To this end, the invention provides that, on at least one of the pole shoes (11), the profiled pole plate is separated via a narrow correction air gap (15) from a base part (11b) of the pole shoe (11) facing the yoke, and the adjusting devices (21 to 27, 30) are constructed to tilt and/or bend the profiled pole plate (11c). <IMAGE>
